Arrests after Littlemore armed robbery

Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack on a shopkeeper during an armed robbery at his Oxford store.

Two men, one armed with a knife, the other with a hammer, took the till from the newsagents on Cowley Road, Littlemore on Sunday.

A fight broke out before the men fled on bicycles. The shopkeeper was treated for injuries to his arm and knee.

A 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old man have been arrested.

Supt Christian Bunt, from Thames Valley Police, said: "We are following a number of active lines of inquiry and have had some good leads meaning that the investigation is progressing well."
