An Oxfordshire village cricket club which had its pitches deluged during the winter floods has received funding to repair the damage.

The ground at Swinbrook, near Burford, was underwater for nine weeks when the River Windrush burst its banks.

Club secretary Robin Meech said the flooding "drowned the grass and ruined the artificial pitches".

The club said a £19,000 grant from Sport England should allow play to resume this summer.
