Work to resurface a major bypass in Oxfordshire has been completed a week ahead of schedule.

The A420 Shrivenham bypass had been shut between Watchfield and Lower Bourton since mid-July.

Residents had raised concerns about traffic being diverted through villages while the work was done.

The county council said it was "excellent news" the work had been done before the nearby A417 is closed while rail electrification is carried out.
