Boxing Day shoppers at Bicester Village were hit with £50 parking fines in a new move to ease congestion.

The outlet was forced to close temporarily on Black Friday last month after roads into the market town became completely blocked with cars.

In a bid to stop a repeat, extra marshals have been drafted in, electronic signs put up and a temporary traffic order put in place.

It led to 41 tickets being issued to vehicles parked illegally on the A41
