A former BMW-Mini worker who siphoned off almost £6m from the car manufacturer has admitted fraud.

Johannes Franken, 50, from Worcestershire, stole the money at the Oxford plant between 2011 and 2014.

Franken made it look like he was paying a supplier, but he was actually paying the cash into his own account.

Appearing at Oxford Crown Court via videolink, Franken admitted five counts of fraud and one count of acquiring criminal property.

No details were given in court about what the money was spent on.

A psychiatric assessment will take place before Franken, from Bromsgrove, is sentenced on 16 June.

He was remanded in custody.
