Sheldon Thomas death: Family appeal for witnesses

The family of a motorist who died from his injuries after his car hit a tree in Oxford have asked for anyone who saw it happen to come forward.

The crash, involving a Volkswagen Golf, happened in Parks Road, near Keble College, at about 05:00 BST on Monday.

Sheldon Thomas, 30, from Oxford, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and died later that night.

In a statement his family called him a "loving son" who was "sadly missed" and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The family added: "The family wish to express their thanks to all the family and friends that have shown their support during this sad time."

The car's passenger, a man in his 20s, was injured in the crash.
