Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses to Cowley Road stabbing

Police are attempting to track down several witnesses to a stabbing carried out on a busy Oxford street.

An 18-year-old man was found with a stab wound at about 14:45 BST on Cowley Road on Monday. He is now in a stable condition.

So far four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and bailed.

Thames Valley Police said several people in the area may hold further to clues to what happened.

They include a man seen on James Street who is described as white, tall and with dark coloured hair; the driver of a white van who was driving along James Street and made a turn into Hurst Street and the driver of a white hatchback which was also seen on James Street.

Det Insp Mike Roddy said: "These people are not believed to have been involved in the incident, however may have witnessed the incident."
