Man dies after crash with lorry on A40

A man was killed when he was hit by a lorry on a dual carriageway outside Oxford in the early hours of the morning.

The pedestrian was hit by the HGV on the eastbound carriageway of the A40 Northern Bypass, a key route into the city, at about 03:30 BST.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The route was closed until 07:00, causing rush hour delays for motorists. Heavy traffic has been reported in the area.
