Lorry driver bailed after fatal M40 crash

A lorry driver has been bailed following a fatal crash on the M40.

Three people were hit by the heavy goods vehicle after getting out of a car on the southbound slip road at junction nine, near Bicester, at 04:22 BST on Wednesday.

One of them, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The three others were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital.

The male lorry driver, 45, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The Southampton man has now been released on police bail until 14 September.
