Murder investigation starts after Oxford stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched after the victim of a stabbing died in hospital.

The man in his 30s was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital on Monday afternoon after the stabbing in Windmill Road, Headington.

A 27-year-old man, thought to be known to the victim, was arrested at the scene.

Police are treating it as an isolated incident. The victim's next of kin have been informed.

Det Insp Dave Hubbard added: "We believe this to have been an isolated incident, and we are now in the process of conducting a thorough investigation.

"Members of the public may see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days whilst we conduct inquiries."
