Man arrested after 'severe' Didcot flat fire

A man has been arrested after a "severe" fire in a block of flats in Didcot.

One man had to be rescued from the three-storey property in Harrier Drive on Friday and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

A family also had to be led to safety by emergency crews.

Thames Valley Police is questioning a 21-year-old on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to tackle the blaze, which it described as "severe".
