Town centre fire damages shop and flat

A hardware store and the flat above have been damaged during a town centre fire.

Fifty firefighters and eight fire engines were called to the shop in Watlington High Street, Oxfordshire, at about 19:00 BST on Friday.

The fire service said it managed to stop the blaze from spreading further and no-one was injured.

Police and ambulance crews also attended the scene. An investigation into the cause is under way.
