Man in hospital after being rescued from Telford lake

A man is being treated for hypothermia after being rescued from a lake in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police said officers were called to Priorslee in Telford where the man was swimming. They then alerted firefighters for assistance.

The man was eventually taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford after being rescued in the early hours of Friday.

It is thought he may have been drinking, police said.
