Horse dies and pair hurt in Whitchurch crash

A horse has died and a woman and her teenage daughter have been injured on the A41 in Shropshire.

The ambulance service was called to reports of a collision involving a van and horse in Higher Heath, Whitchurch, at about 1345 GMT on Saturday.

The horse was not being ridden by anyone at the time. Three men in the van did not need hospital treatment.

Crews found two cars which had collided nearby. A woman in her 40s and her daughter had neck and back pain.

They were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance.
