Frankwell car park opens as River Severn threat recedes

A Shropshire car park has reopened after closing due to the threat of flooding from rising river water.

Shropshire Council shut Frankwell car park in Shrewsbury, next to the River Severn, on Monday after the Environment Agency issued a flood alert.

The River Severn remains on flood alert but water levels peaked overnight and during Tuesday morning, the agency said.

The car park is judged to be no longer at risk.
