Can you imagine anything more terrifying than standing on stage trying to make people laugh?

That's the challenge facing radio presenter Adam Green on Sunday, 27 March and he wants your support.

For the 2011 Red Nose Day appeal Adam will be raising money and hopefully a few laughs.

Some of the country's top comedians have given Adam advice as he prepared to perform on stage in front of a paying crowd for Comic Relief.

Hugh Dennis, Jo Brand and John Culshaw gave their thoughts on Adam's routine at a special session at the Radio Theatre in London.

Adam said it felt quite a challenge: "I'm terrified and excited in almost equal measure. I'm looking forward to being a comic - but it will be a relief when it's over!"

You can follow Adam's progress in the next few weeks on BBC Radio Shropshire on Adam and Vicki's show, weekdays 3-7pm.

He will then perform his routine alongside other comedians at the Laughter Lines comedy night in Shrewsbury on 27 March.
