Charity paddle along River Severn

A father and son from Shropshire are planning to paddle 150 miles along the River Severn, despite never having been in a canoe before.

Roger Lewis, from Telford, and his 11-year-old son, plan to set off from Welshpool at the end of May, and complete the challenge six days later.

The pair will raise money for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and the Severn Hospice.

They have begun training and will begin their expedition at the end of May.

They are training with the help of Telford & Wrekin Council and one of Mr Lewis' colleagues, who is also raising money for Telford & Wrekin Fibromyalgia Support Group.
