Two arrested after man hurt in Oswestry robbery
Two people have been arrested after an elderly man was attacked in a robbery at his Shropshire home.
The man, in his 80s, was in a serious but stable condition after he was assaulted by people who had broken into the house in Ambleside Road, Oswestry early on Monday.
He had injuries to his head, hip and arm.
Two men, aged 25 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of robbery in the Oswestry area at about 2130 BST on Monday.
It had not been established what, if anything, was stolen, West Mercia Police said.
The force was called at just after 0300 BST on Monday, officers attended and an ambulance was called to take the man to hospital.
Forensic officers have examined the scene.
Police appealed for anyone who might have seen suspicious activity in the Ambleside Road area during the early hours of Monday to contact them.
