Telford bus targeted in suspected air gun attack

A bus was damaged as it travelled through Donnington, Telford, in a suspected air gun attack.

West Mercia Police said the Arriva bus was travelling along Wrekin Drive when the incident happened at about 1130 BST on Monday.

A spokeswoman said as the bus drove down the road, it stopped opposite the parade of shops to collect a passenger.

She added as it moved to the end of the road it is believed pellets were fired from an air weapon at the bus windows.

Two of the windows shattered but nobody was injured.

She said: "Fortunately the bus was fitted with safety glass so the windows remained intact."

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.
