A road which collapsed into what is thought to be an historic well has reopened.

Hazledine Way in Shrewsbury was closed eastbound on Sunday after a 12m (39ft) deep hole opened under the pavement.

Shropshire Council reopened the road and pavement on Saturday afternoon after topping the shaft with concrete.

About 16,000 people are expected at a concert by Sir Elton John at Greenhous Meadow stadium on Sunday and the area is to be used for car parking.
