Snowdonia cyclist Gary Brierley's death accidental

A Shropshire cyclist's death in Snowdonia was accidental, a Cardiff inquest has recorded.

Gary Brierley, 44, from Meole Brace in Shrewsbury, suffered severe head injuries after falling from his bike near Dinas Mawddwy on 8 May.

Mr Brierley was taken to Aberystwyth Hospital and later airlifted to University Hospital in Cardiff where he died four days later .

Cardiff coroner Mary Hassell said he had died from a traumatic brain injury.

Mr Brierley, who was an accountant at Shropshire Council, was training for a charity bike ride when he was involved in the incident.
