David Nicholls bailed in Whitchurch samurai sword case

A 28-year-old Shrewsbury man accused of slashing another man with a samurai sword in a shopping arcade has been given bail.

David Nicholls, of North Street, is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

A man suffered wounds to his head and hand in the alleged attack at Watergate arcade, Whitchurch, on Tuesday.

Mr Nicholls is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 10 October.
