Shrewsbury RSPCA and police raid seizes birds of prey

The RSPCA have removed 27 birds of prey, including owls and hawks, after a raid on a house in Shrewsbury.

A 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to wildlife.

The raid on Thursday was carried out by RSPCA inspectors, officers from the National Wildlife Crime Unit and West Mercia Police.

The birds have been taken to a safe location while the RSPCA carries out its investigations.
