Vintage vehicle club in first aid fundraising

A vintage vehicle club is being thanked for raising funds towards life-saving equipment for a community first responder in a Shropshire town.

The Long Mynd Vintage Vehicle Club has raised £2,460 towards a responder kitbag and a new defibrillator, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Community first responders attend medical emergencies ahead of an ambulance or paramedic arriving.

The club said it was "staggered" to realise how much it had raised.

Dawn Bush, community first responder and divisional co-ordinator for Shropshire, said: "A big thank you to the Long Mynd Vintage Vehicle Club.

"We really appreciate everything they have done for us and the support they have given us over the last year.

"For such a small group to raise so much money is astonishing."
