Arriva Midlands to take over Telford Travelink office

A public transport booking office is to have its opening hours reduced until a new operator takes over.

Telford & Wrekin Council will hand over the running of the Travelink office to bus operator Arriva Midlands in mid January.

The changes are part of moves to save the authority £40m by 2014.

From 21 December the office in Telford Bus Station, will no longer be open after 13:30 GMT from Monday to Friday and after 13:00 GMT on Saturday.

The council said the reduction in hours would operate until Arriva Midlands takes over the office.

The majority of services, including Arriva Midlands ticket sales, will remain in the office although concessionary travel purchases will move to the council's civic offices.
