Shropshire man finds ring after Twitter message

A Shrewsbury man who lost his wedding ring has been reunited with it after posting a message on Twitter.

Martin Wright, 28, lost his wedding ring on Sunday while putting cardboard into a sealed recycling container in a supermarket car park in the town.

The web designer said he put a message on Twitter after failing to contact waste operator Veolia on the phone.

The message was later picked up by the company's headquarters, which informed staff at the local office.

Mr Wright, who has been married for 18 months, tweeted: "Just dropped my wedding ring into a cardboard recycling container. All the phone numbers on the box are closed. What can I do?"

Mark Hunter, from Veolia, said: "We hand-picked every piece of cardboard and halfway down, in a Tetley teabag box there it was."

Mr Wright said the ring, which cost £260, had simply fallen off his finger.
