Four-year-old Burway Bridge shut for repair work

A bridge built to replace one which collapsed into a river during flooding has closed for up to three days for repairs.

A leaking joint will be replaced at the new Burway Bridge in Ludlow, which was built in 2008.

The previous bridge crumbled into the River Corve when heavy rain hit the area in June 2007, severing a gas main.

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists are still allowed over the new bridge, but it closed to traffic from Wednesday.
