Man critical after Weston Heath crash

A 26-year-old man remains in a critical condition, according to police, after a crash which killed a horse.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to the crash on King Street, Weston Heath, in Shropshire, on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 10:25 BST after reports of a three vehicle pile-up, with one one of them, a Fiat Punto, hitting the horse.

The 36-year-old female horse rider also remains in hospital, where her condition is described as stable.

The horse was killed instantly, West Mercia Police said.

PC Simon Barnes said the crash happened just before the junction with Damson Lane and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
