Royal Shrewsbury Hospital flu outbreak prompts visitor ban

Children and adults with underlying health problems are being advised not to visit a ward at a Shropshire hospital after an outbreak of flu.

The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital has confirmed that "a small number of patients" on Ward 24 have been confirmed as having the illness.

The hospital also asked that people who have flu-like symptoms should not make visits.

A spokesperson said this was to protect "vulnerable patients and staff".
