Market Drayton death: Woman released without charge
A 40-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murdering a man from Shropshire has been released without charge.
Simon Marcus Hurley, 47, was found with severe head injuries at a flat in The Oval, Market Drayton on 27 February and later died in hospital.
Police said his death was initially treated as suspicious, but they now believed nobody else was involved.
Det Insp Mark Ballamy said the woman would face no further action.
He said: "Following extensive inquiries into both the circumstances and the cause of Mr Hurley's death, the person arrested at the scene will face no further police action and has been released from bail."
An inquest is expected to be conducted in due course by Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery.
