A street in a Shropshire town, closed after a section of guttering fell from a building, has reopened.

Cross Street in Oswestry had been shut since Monday. Shropshire Council and the fire service said the temporary closure was imposed as "a precaution".

The local authority said it had spoken to shop owners and that work to make the roofs safe had been completed.

The road, which has restricted access for vehicles, was reopened to traffic at 16:00 BST.
