A sailing club has been revamped thanks to £31,000 worth of funding.

Colemere Sailing Club has used the money from the Sports England Olympic Legacy Fund to pay for purpose-built jetties and two new rescue boats.

The funding was part of a £135m scheme to use lottery money to encourage more people to become involved in sport in the wake of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Shropshire club has been sailing at Ellesmere since 1959.

A spokesperson from the group said the investment in extra safety boats meant it could run more activities.
