A man has pleaded not guilty to making 11 petrol bombs.

Anthony Orwell, from Market Drayton in Shropshire, is accused of making them from a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil, in wine bottles.

Police were called to Victoria Quays in the town, in September, after a man threatened to ignite petrol during a police stand-off.

The 62-year-old denied making an explosive substance for unlawful purpose at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

He is due to go on trial at the same court in February.
