Dozens of people assembled at a nightclub earlier to search for a missing Shropshire man.

Daniel Hodgin, 20, failed to return home after a night out with friends at The Buttermarket nightclub in Shrewsbury last weekend.

West Mercia Police said it believed Mr Hodgin, from Madeley, left the club at about 03:30 GMT on Sunday.

Volunteers, family and friends were divided into groups to search for any signs of him after a police briefing.

They were also looking for any signs of his clothes or mobile phone.

Police have examined the River Severn in Shrewsbury and said on Wednesday searches were focusing on an area within one mile of The Buttermarket and the force helicopter, dogs and boat crews were all involved.

Mr Hodgin, who has been described as about 5ft 9ins (1.75m) with short spiked brown hair and stubble, was wearing a grey Police polo shirt with dark blue jeans and black boots.
