A two-day busking festival is being held in Shrewsbury in memory of a man who was murdered on a canal footpath.

Guy Benson Bebbington, known as Ben, died from head injuries he sustained in the town, in September 2012.

Bradley Davies, 18, and Stewart Doran, 21, both from Shrewsbury, were jailed for life for his murder.

The Big Busk, which has been organised by Mr Bebbington's friends and family, aims to raise money for charity.

Mr Bebbington, who was described by his family as a "talented musician", was often seen busking in Shrewsbury.

Mr Bebbington's sister Annie, who is one of the event's organisers, said there would be music at venues "throughout the town".

"On Sunday, there will be a great big street party, with music, dancing and workshops," she said.
