Boy hit by car outside Minsterley shop dies

A 19-month-old boy has died after being hit by a car outside a shop.

Paramedics arrived to find members of the public trying to resuscitate the child outside a Co-op at a garage on the A488 in Minsterley in Shropshire.

The air ambulance was also called, but despite efforts to save the toddler, who was in cardiac arrest, he died, West Mercia Police said.

The road was closed following the incident and police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
