Motorcyclist killed in crash with wall in Frome

A motorcyclist in his 20s has died after apparently losing control of his machine and hitting a wall in Somerset.

Emergency services were called to Clink Road, Frome, following reports of the accident on Sunday evening.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the man was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with serious injuries but died later.

Anyone who was in the Clink Road area at around 1745 BST is asked to contact police.

"[The motorcyclist] appeared to mount the nearside kerb and travelled along the grass verge before the bike slid across the road junction," a police spokesman said.

"It was then in collision with a wall on the far side of the road junction."
