Nine people have been injured in a crash between a minibus and a Range Rover in Somerset.

Police said the bus was carrying elderly people and was in collision with the 4x4 vehicle on Bleadon Road, Weston-super-Mare, at about 1030 BST.

Avon and Somerset Police said there were eight "walking wounded" and an elderly woman had been airlifted to hospital.

Bleadon Road and Bridge Road were closed but have now reopened.

A police spokesman said the elderly woman's injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
