Fresh witness appeal over fatal Glastonbury crash

Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses over a crash in Glastonbury on Christmas Eve in which a 74-year-old man died.

A Mercedes car was being driven along Cow Bridge Road when it was reported to have spun out of control before sliding into a ditch just before 1100 GMT.

Police said that the road at the time of the incident had been closed by the council due to poor weather conditions.

They now believe that a road closure sign had been moved.

The sign was at the crossroad junction at Middle Drove but is believed to have been missing at the time of the incident.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone moving the sign either the previous evening or that morning.
