Appeal after pedestrian, 89, dies in Somerset crash

An 89-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car while walking her dog in Somerset.

Police said the collision, which involved a Vauxhall Corsa, happened in Long Street, Williton, at about 1720 GMT on Saturday.

The woman was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton with serious head and leg injuries.

She died on Tuesday evening, the force spokesman said. He appealed for witnesses.
