Somerset teenager shares prayers during World Youth Day

A teenager is taking to the streets of Somerset to offer prayers and gospels to residents.

Jacinta Rhodes, 18, from St Catharine's parish in Frome, is one of the Clifton Diocese World Youth Day pilgrims.

During Holy week, 17 to 21 April, she will be offering prayercards to people in Frome, Yeovil, Taunton, Bridgwater and Glastonbury.

Written by the Catholic Truth Society, the gospels contain a prayer and information such as website details.

Jacinta will be visting:

  • Frome on Monday, 18 April
  • Yeovil on Tuesday, 19 April
  • Taunton on Wednesday, 20 April
  • Bridgwater on Thursday, 21 April
  • Glastonbury on Saturday, 23 April

World Youth Day is a worldwide event where youths from all over the world come together.

It will be held this year in Madrid, Spain, from 16 to 21 August and will consist of activites such as concerts, exhibits, plays and museum visits.
