Boy critically hurt in crash on A39 in Somerset

A teenage boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a car, police have said.

The collision happened at 0730 BST on Saturday outside the Olive Mill pub on the A39 outside Chilton Polden Hill.

The pedestrian was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital where he was treated for life-threatening head, leg and internal injuries.

He has been transferred to Frenchay Hospital where he remains in a critical condition, police said.

Avon and Somerset Police would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time.
