Somerset couple recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours list

A couple from Somerset who have dedicated their lives to a local hospital have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Terry and Caroline Wynne have been appointed MBEs for their services to Paulton Memorial Hospital.

The fundraisers have run the hospital's League of Friends charity shop in Paulton High Street for over 12 years.

In September 2010, the shop raised enough money to donate an £8,000 bladder scanner to the hospital.

Also recognised are Diana Barran, who has been appointed MBE for her services to victims of domestic violence in Bath.

Edna Bessell has been appointed an MBE for services to lawn bowls in Yeovil.

Graham Watson, the Langport-based South West Liberal Democrat MEP, has been knighted for public and political services.
