Bid to move flagging Crewkerne town market

A market in Crewkerne could be moved to improve the numbers of people using it.

The market currently only attracts three stallholders per week due to its location in an isolated part of a car park which is away from pedestrians.

South Somerset District Council is looking for a new site in a bid to revive the market.

Town councillor Angie Singleton said there were "several options on the table" for moving the market but it depended on negotiations.

"I'm sure we'll find some alternative site for them and certainly that's what everyone is working towards," she said.
