Driver sought after Weston-super-Mare hit-and-run

Police in Weston-super-Mare are trying to trace a driver who failed to stop when a man was hit by a car.

The victim was struck at the junction of Alexandra Parade and Camden Terrace in the early hours of Thursday.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the victim suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The car, a silver three-door Renault Clio, is likely to have recent damage," the spokesman added.

Police said four people were arrested and later released without charge.

"Anyone who may have seen this car or its occupants at about 2.20am on 23 June, is asked to contact police," the force spokesman added.
