Somerton health park plans approved

Proposals for a new health park in Somerton have been approved by South Somerset District council.

Outline planning permission has been given for the centre, which will feature a 55-bed care home and a GPs' surgery which would include seven consulting rooms.

The development will be built on an area of land at Behind Berry, next to The Pennards.

Council planners voted through the scheme by six votes to five.
