Fire at Butlins in Minehead tackled by crews

Fire crews spent several hours tackling a blaze at a holiday resort in Somerset.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to Butlins in Minehead at about 1920 BST on Saturday.

Five crews, using hose jets and breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze on the ground floor of a chalet.

It was brought under control by about 20:40 BST. One member of staff, suffering from slight smoke inhalation, was treated by ambulance staff.

A fire service spokesman said the cause of the fire was believed to have been accidental.
