Bridgwater petrol station fire: Traffic diverted

Motorists were diverted away from a Somerset petrol station on the A39 after it caught fire.

The fire service was alerted to the blaze in the Greenway Garage shop in Bridgwater at about 05:30 BST.

Acetylene cylinders, a potentially explosive pressurised gas, were removed from the garage and traffic was diverted away from Quantock Road.

A spokesman said the fire had now been been extinguished. No one was injured in the incident.
