Church organist Nigel Parkin denies child sex offences

A former church organist from Somerset is to face trial accused of 17 sexual offences against children.

Nigel Parkin, 55, of North Street, Wiveliscombe, appeared at Taunton Crown Court on Monday.

He denies all charges, including rape of a child under 13, rape, indecent assault and sexual assault.

He was released on conditional bail ahead of a pre-trial hearing in 10 weeks time. The offences are alleged to have taken place between 1998 and 2009.

Mr Parkin is a former organist at St Andrews' Church in Wiveliscombe and a former presenter on the community radio station 10 Radio.
