The Olympic torch relay will visit Bath's Royal Crescent as it passes through Somerset.

It will arrive in Porlock on 21 May before heading to Minehead, Dunster, Carhampton, Washford and Williton.

The procession will then head to Taunton for an overnight stop and a special celebratory event.

On 22 May it will visit locations including Ilminster, Yeovil, Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet, before heading to Bath.

The following day it will travel to Flax Bourton, Backwell Farleigh, Backwell West Town, Nailsea and Failand.

Leader of West Somerset Council Tim Taylor said it was a "huge honour and a privilege" to have the Olympic flame pass through the area.

Steve Worley, from Minehead Sailing Club, said it was "wonderful news for Minehead and the coastal communities".

"This is wonderful news for South Somerset. We are proud that the Olympic torch relay will be visiting our district.

Steve Joel, from South Somerset District Council, said he hoped the torch relay would "encourage many more people to come into sport and enjoy the Olympic and Paralympic Games".
